What is PRS database (landlord register)?
The private rented sector (PRS) database is a national register of landlords and rented properties in England, created by the Renters' Rights Act. Landlords will have to register themselves and their properties.
Why it matters to landlords
The government has announced a staged roll out, region by region, with registration needing to be renewed. Landlords who do not register risk a civil penalty and may be unable to use some possession grounds.
You will be expected to provide information about each property, including its safety certificates, so having those records in order now makes registration simpler.
